Refund policy
Returns
You have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, please contact us at contact@summervibes.com.au
If your return is accepted, we'll send you instructions for how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.
You can always contact us for any return question at contact@summervibes.com.au
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Our freight providers only give 1 week to advise of any delivery issues, so we can ONLY consider damage caused during delivery for 1 week following delivery date.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalised items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products).
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items.
Refunds
We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
All Boards — 30 Day Manufacturing Warranty
Surfboards · Softboards · Bodyboards · Skateboards
Summer vibes warrants all boards — including surfboards, softboards, bodyboards and skateboards — to be free of major manufacturing defects when sold as new to the original purchaser, for a period of 30 days from date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required.
If a board fails due to a verified manufacturing defect within 30 days, we'll repair, replace, or refund at our discretion.
What's not covered
- Damage from external forces — rocks, reef, sea floor, other surfers, other boards, vehicles, walls, fins from other boards, etc.
- Forceful damage — dings, fin box cracks, dents, depressions, broken noses or tails from impact
- Damage from waves — snapped boards, broken stringers, buckles
- Exposure to excessive heat — colour change, delamination, warping
- Improper storage — stains, heat marks, water marks, mould
- Damage incurred during shipping (handled under Damages and issues)
- Waterlogging from cracks not reported within the 30 day window
- Damage caused by accessories — fins, leashes, plugs from third parties
- Loose screws on skateboards (wear & tear)
- Theft, loss, third-party damage
- Misuse or neglect — including riding the board in conditions beyond its design intent
- Normal wear and tear — pressure dings on softboards, deck wear, scratches, fading
- Boards used for commercial purposes (rentals, schools, hire fleets)
This warranty is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which we don't seek to exclude.
Hardware & Accessories — 12 Month Guarantee
Summer vibes guarantees all hardware and accessories — including leg ropes, fins, deck grip (traction pads), and board bags — to be free of manufacturing defects for 12 months from date of purchase to the original purchaser. Proof of purchase is required.
This 12 Month Guarantee applies to hardware and accessories only. It does NOT apply to boards of any kind — surfboards, softboards, bodyboards or skateboards are all covered under the separate 30 Day Manufacturing Warranty above.
If hardware fails due to a genuine manufacturing defect within 12 months, we'll replace it, repair it, or refund it at our discretion.
What's covered
- Stitching, cuff, swivel or cord failure on leg ropes under normal surfing use
- Manufacturing defects in fins (cracks, separation, lamination failure) not caused by impact or wave force
- Adhesive failure on deck grip (traction pads) not caused by improper installation, heat, or removal
- Zipper, stitching, or strap failure on board bags under normal use
- Hardware that breaks or fails on first reasonable use
What's not covered
- Damage from external forces — including impact with rocks, reef, the sea floor, other surfers, boards, vehicles, or solid objects
- Damage from excessive force — wipeouts on oversized waves, repeated high-impact use beyond the product's intended conditions, or any abnormal load
- Damage from waves — snapped leashes, snapped fins, blown-out cuffs caused by wave force
- Exposure to excessive heat — including melting, warping, colour fade, or delamination from being left in cars, on hot sand, or in direct sun
- Damage during shipping (covered separately under Damages and issues)
- Improper storage — heat damage, stains, mould, water damage from prolonged storage in wet bags, etc.
- Damage caused by the customer's other equipment (e.g. a damaged fin box destroying a new fin)
- Theft, loss, or third-party damage
- Misuse or neglect — including using a product for purposes outside its design (e.g. a soft leash on a hardboard in big surf)
- Normal wear and tear — including scuffs, fading, minor abrasion, and cosmetic marks from regular use
- Products used for commercial purposes (rentals, schools, hire fleets)
- Products purchased through clearance, sale, or seconds channels are covered by the same 12 Month Guarantee unless otherwise marked.
How to make a claim
- Email contact@summervibes.com.au with your order number and a clear description of what failed.
- Include 2–3 photos and a short video if possible. We can usually diagnose from photos alone.
- We'll respond within 2 business days. If approved, we'll arrange a replacement (preferred), repair, or refund.
This guarantee is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which we don't seek to exclude.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in our warranty or guarantee terms attempts to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You're also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
